MinimWatch not connecting to MinimServer

My system has recently updated, now I'm not able to rescan MinimServer using MinimWatch.

MinimServer 0.8.3.4 is running on a Synology NAS which is running DSM 6.0-7321

I have MinimWatch running on a macbook pro OSX El Capitan V10.11.3

I updated Java to Version 8 Update 77

MinimWatch sometimes starts but all the options are greyed out (i.e. rescan etc)

At the moment when I try to start MinimWatch I get an error:

"you can't open the application 'MinimWatch.app' because it is not responding.

I have rebooted the MacBook a couple of times.

Any suggestions?
