It's definitely worth trying. Transcoding from FLAC to WAV doesn't use much memory, and you should have enough CPU power to be able to handle up to 24/96 files. (24/192 might be possible, but this would be pushing the limits.)

You can look at the CPU and memory usage by using the 'top' command from an SSH console window.
