If you can eliminate the switch as a test (this might require buying longer cables or moving some equipment), it would be worth trying this to see if it makes a difference.

Tried that and no difference. At this point, if I shut the program down when I stop listening, i.e. double click the home button and swipe the program to close, then it will mostly find Minimserver quickly when I restart. Occasionally it does not. If i let the program just go to sleep, it almost always struggles to find the server. I checked the Netgear settings on my daughters PC (it is PC only, cannot access switch from a Mac) and verified all snooping was turned off.
