MinimWatch vs. VPN

Hi folks, I wonder if someone can assist a newbie...

I've installed MinimServer on my ReadyNAS and it seems to be working fine. I installed MinimWatch on a headless server which is running a VPN client (Private Internet Access or PIA). I noted that MinimWatch could not see the MinimServer (grey icon). I disconnected the PIA connection and the MinimWatch icon immediately turned green and works fine. It continues to work fine after restarting PIA. But I must always start MinimWatch first.

Not the worst thing, but I wonder if there is a way to resolve this minor annoyance.
