Files not seen by server NAS

I've just setup Minim on the QNAP HS 210 per instructions. When copying files into the NAS, most copy and are seen by the iPad app for Lumin. But some do not show up and some are duplicated. When looking at the NAS via Windows Explorer, the file list is not exactly the same as on the iPad app. When looking at the QNAP dashboard file list everything looks as it should. Why is this changing across the three? More importantly, why can't I get accurate access to my (well tagged) files via Minim on the iPad app for Lumin? I've rebooted and reloaded the list within the Minim menu on the iPad app.
