RE: Thanks Simon!
On my NAS I run BubbleUPnP server and minimserver and I use BubbleUPnP client on my droids. The bub server has my Yamaha RX-V677 as an OpenHome Renderer (receiver is wifi in main room) and the playlist lives on the NAS and not on the droids which is quite brilliant. You might went to look into loading the bubbleupnp server package on your synology and giving it a go to see if you like it. It also makes any of your MS's reachable from outside world over https connection.
I get static/glitch/drops/action timeout/weird crap every now and again and the fix for me is to power down/re power the Yamaha receiver. I was able to help this SLIGHTLY by editing the confiuration.xml file of bub server to be 10,000ms for the renderer. This helped but did not solve. I tried SO MANY clients and media servers and all of them had this behaviour which leads me to believe it is not the client nor the media server but the hardware. In fact, any weird issue I have ever had with bubble or minim has never BEEN bubble or minim but something else entirely. Let me know if you discover any fixes to your occasional static/pop issues. Mine has been plaguing me since day 1. |
