For lossy files, the bit rate is intentionally approximate (e.g., ~256k). To expand an approximate number to full precision (~256000) would make no sense in my opinion. Showing the sample rate as 44100 makes it clear that this is an exact number that hasn't been rounded to some arbitrary number of decimal places.

I checked a couple of control points (BubbleDS and Linn Kazoo) and these both show the sample rate in the same way that MinimServer does.
