In the 2.4 GHz band, there are only three non-overlapping channels. These are channels 1, 6 and 11. It isn't a good idea to use any other channel because the frequencies used by this channel will overlap with either 1, 6 or 11.

The 5 GHz band doesn't have this problem. In the 5 GHz band, all channels are non-overlapping.
