Thanks for the very prompt reply Simon. I am now aware of the limitations of the Home Hub 4. Another friend recommended it to me as a dual band router and said that it is optimised to work with BT Internet. It would appear that it is not optimised to work over 5GHz! My friend told me this so I disabled 5GHz capability and reveretd solely to 2.4GHz. This didn't solve my problem. I couldn't get Inssider to run on Windows 2012 R2 Server. It crashed on startup and although I tried Windows 7 and Windows 8 compatibility modes, it was having none of it.

I found a very positive review WiFi Analyzer, which I installed on my Android tablet. That worked fine and suggested that the optimum channels for me were 11,12, 13. My router was currently working on auto to find the best channel. When i went into router settings, it was running on Channel 1 so I changed the settings so that the router now runs exlusively on Channel 11.

I have had that running for the past 40 minutes. I can view my album collection and change albums without any problems although, apart from the first album that I played, the Now Playing screen is not functioning at all. On the single occasion that it did work, it gave the format as PCM and correctly identified the resolution at 16/44. I am able to view the tracks on an album in the Library view and I can change track. If I do this, playback stops as soon as the selected track has finished. I would expect this as it appears that in Library view, any track selected is not added to the playlist. Although I can play an entire album by selecting it and clikc the Play button at the top of the screen, I don't get the bar near the bottom of the Library screen, confirming the track that I am playing.

Maybe I will try changing channel again in an attempt to get the Now Playing screen functional.

UPDATE: I have been trying different channels and monitoring with WiFi Analyzer on my Android tablet. The app recommends channels that I should use but as soon as I change to one of those channels, the app immediately drops its rating for the channel and recommends something else! When I change channel, it seems that my neighbours channels change to the same as the one that I am trying to use. I'll now change to automatic setting and monitor that
