From the information you posted, it sounds like there might be two different network problems:

1) The Home Hub 4 has a problem with miulticast over 5 GHz. The solution is to completely avoid the 5 GHz band for audio traffic.

2) There might be a problem with overlapping nearby channels on the 2.4 GHz band that is causing unreliable performance in your location. If this is the problem, the solution is to use inSSIDer to find an empty 2.4 GHz channel as Marcin has suggested and switch to it.

If doing the above doesn't solve the problem, there might be some other network issue and it would require someone with specialist network knowledge (your friend) to debug it.

Quote:It is often the case that when trying to play an album or track, it will transfer to the playing stage and will display track details and cover art in the 'Now Playing' screen of BubbleUPnP. It just won't play back with JPLAYStreamer selected as the renderer.

This would happen if the format of the stream you're trying to play isn't WAV because JPLAYStreamer is limited to playing WAV streams only. What format does BubbleUPnP show on its Now Playing screen?
