Thanks Simon. I was unaware that the issue with 5GHz on BT Home Hub was a known issue but I think I discovered that for myself. I hasten to add that I have no tehcnical knowledge on networking whatsoever. I just folow the instructions of others!

I posted the following on the JPLAY Forum yesterday:

Still haven't cracked it yet. Sometimes I can browse my collection and play music. At other times I can't play a thing.

Having tried out a few things, it would seem reasonable to assume that the problem might lie with network communication with JPLAYStreamer. I have problems whether I use BubbleUPnP on Android Tablet or Kazoo/Kinsky on iPad. I will stick with BubbleUPnP as that is the one I would like to get working. I like the UI! If I select the local renderer, playback through my Android tablet works reliably. When I select JPLAYStreamer as the renderer of choice, then playback is much less reliable. Sometimes a simple restart of JPLAYStreamer in the Task Manager solves the problem. At other times, rebooting my single PC or restarting BubbleUPnP will cure the problem. This evening, trying to get any playback was akin to trying to raise the dead! I just couldn't get any response. if I try a couple of hours later, then it is just as likely as not to work reliably. The fact that the problems occus when JPLAYStreamer is selected would perhaps account for the fact that playback reliability is restricted when using Kazoo on my iPad. It looks very much like network communication with JPLAYStreamer is the issue. Installing the Windows version of Kazoo on my single PC and controlling remotely with teamViewer works a treat but there is a slight degredation in sound quality when using this option. Would experimenting with my JPLAY settings make reliable JPLAYStreamer playback more likely?

Josef recommended that I restrict my router to the 5GHz band and while this suggestion seems appropriate, it actualy brought about the least reliable performance experienced. I now have my router restricted to 2.4GHz and while one might expect this to work, it seems to give a higher level of reliability. Neither band provides full reliability.

It is often the case that when trying to play an album or track, it will transfer to the playing stage and will display track details and cover art in the 'Now Playing' screen of BubbleUPnP. It just won't play back with JPLAYStreamer selected as the renderer.

A friend of mine who is very clued up on networking feels sure that it is a networking issue. He he said he will come over and take a look when he has time. he mentioned something about ports in the router ... It made no sense to me!

In the meantime and pending my networking friend's arrival, is there anything else I could try or anything that I might have missed?"

Yes, network connection is dropping thats why control point loose jplaystreamer renderer. You can install inssider and check if there is not too much networks on the same channel in your area.

Apologies if posting all this is unhelpful. I figured that the more information I could provide, the greater the chance of someone more knowledgeable than me being able to provide a solution.
