Date vs Decade

I prefer to view dates by Decade rather than each discreet year.

I am using:

in indexTags: Decade

in tagOptions: Decade.decade.index

in tagValue: Decade.default={Date}

Now - this works fine. However I'd like to do away with the 'Date' virtual folder on my control point. To be clear my control point shows both Date and Decade and I only want to see Decade. But when I remove date from indexTags it creates errors. Is there a way for Decade to REPLACE date?
