This morning however it was fine for around 50 minutes, it completely varies.

I have tried to reproduce this problem without success. I am wondering if it might be related to playing the stream on the Sonos. Do you have any results from using the delayHLS=10 setting?

That's what I'm thinking... perhaps your streamer adds enough buffer to deal with this. I think I just experienced dropout but I was in the other room without debugging on... will put it on and continue listening. If I experiemce anything I'll send the logs straight over.
