OK - BubbleUpnP Server was set to transcode hi res down, I have removed that restriction. Apologies that this was not a minim servers issue, but, Simon, a Minimserver query for you:

1) is it necessary or desirable to transcode DSD (dff, sf) files to dopwav?
Right now, as it happens, I am unable to do so. When dsf:dopwav is set, low-level static emerges. Leaving no DSD transcoding settings plays music (but is it DSD?).

2) Can you (would you want to?) transcode AIFF-->WAV24? My whole collection is AIFF

3) Any reason to choose avconv over ffmpeg or vice-versa?
