Imho something must have happened during the Dbpoweramp WAV to WAV conversion?
Interestingly enough desktop Kazoo reports the FLAC file to be HD while the WAV file (which is also 24 bit) is not showing the HD symbol.

Regardless of the symbol Kazoo shows - the FLAC sound better on my KDS/1

Can you try enabling MinimStreamer flac:wav24 transcoding for another comparison point? I would be interested to know whether this sounds better or worse than FLAC on your system.
