Minimserver 0.8.3 StartError on Synology

Do you also see "MinimServer start error" messages in the system log? I would expect something like this:

MinimServer start error: Fri Dec 19 19:19:44 MinimServer 0.8.3 update 51, Copyright © 2012-2014 Simon Nash. All rights reserved.

The problem occurs because you have set the .logPrefix property in your MinimServer properties. This changes the first line of output from:

MinimServer 0.8.3 update 51, Copyright © 2012-2014 Simon Nash. All rights reserved.

to:

Fri Dec 19 19:19:44 MinimServer 0.8.3 update 51, Copyright © 2012-2014 Simon Nash. All rights reserved.

The MinimServer startup script reads this output line to check whether MinimServer has started correctly. It doesn't allow for the date/time stamp at the start of this line and therefore thinks the MinimServer process hasn't started. It then deletes the /var/run/minimserver.pid file, which causes the other problems you are seeing.

I have made a fix to remove the .logPrefix value from the start of this output line. This fix is available in MinimServer update 52. Please do the following:

1) From the minim icons, use Close to close all but one of these icons

2) From the last minim icon, use About + Show updates to install update 52 without relaunching MinimServer

3) From the last minim icon, select Close

4) From the Synology Package Center, start MinimServer
