If you have an Android device, you could try BubbleUPnP. I don't know of any good control points for iOS.

The most likely cause of the problem is your network multicast configuration. If you search this forum for "multicast", you should find a lot of previous discussion on this issue. What router are you using and does it have a setting named something like "multicast" or "IGMP snooping"?
