To be honest, I'm not sure what you mean by "such a player". UPnP-compliant players with gapless capability which can stream from MinimServer on a NAS or computer are now quite common. I have two - different models from the Linn range - and there are others from the likes of Cambridge Audio in a somewhat less demanding price bracket. There are versions with their own amplification, others that function as pre-amplifiers, and a third group which simply function as a source component within an existing hi-fi system. Obviously, your requirements are your own, but it isn't immediately apparent to me why you feel so stuck.

And I'd certainly echo Simon's advice that "listening to the music is the most important thing." My delay in responding to your post was the result of doing just that ...
