This should work. There have been problems with one or two players that require an immediate response from the server when they send a GET request for the stream. With transcoding, the server response can be delayed slightly and the player might not be able to handle this delay. To eliminate this small risk, you can do one of the following:

1) Post details of the player here to see whether other MinimServer users have been able to do gapless playback with transcoding.

2) Buy the player from a dealer who will give a refund if this functionality doesn't work.

3) Get a home trial before you buy the player.

4) Take a laptop running MinimServer to the dealer's shop to set up a trial demo there.
