I have 138GB and it does not take that long, maybe an hour or so.(138,627,927,742 bytes (138.64 GB on disk) for 5,355 items) Running off an older macbook. It does freeze the machine. I will explore your other options on control points. VLC is rubbish for this.

Mine also froze after about 8 hours or so.

Quote:Alt-F is based on Linux. Perhaps it's getting in touch with the developer and submit your server as an option to add to his package download. Browse his sourcepage for a few minutes, please.

The MinimServer license doesn't permit redistribution as part of other package downloads. If Alt-F users want to use MinimServer, they will need to download it from the MinimServer website and and install it themselves.

Quote:OK. I understand and respect this. I use Alt-F, along with a lot of others. I will not mind working with you to see how I can install your server on top of Alt-F. Are you able to please take a look at Alt-F and let me know which of the packages you offer that can be used for this purpose, or perhaps consult with its creator on how this could be done. I just don't have the knowledge, but between you two a great package is waiting to be had. I will do the write-up, based on my experiences and create a wiki. Please see how best you can help.

Quote:Which of the DS did you get? I see a few versions.

I have a Klimax DS/1 and a Klimax Renew DS/0. Both are excellent.

Thanks a lot for this. I will put that on my list, Christmas list, that is.
