Sorrry to read about your bad impression with the Mind renderer, but by mileage does considerably vary with yours. I have used one (both as a standalone unit and as an embedded module inside a Moon Neo 380D) extensively for more than a year now, the unit being on all the time. Never experienced any problem with it, at all sampling bit widths and frequencies combinations (up to 24/192). I found it to be a very reliable device, certainly not an alpha product abandonned by development, as you say. Compared to other renderers I tried, among which Naim Uniti, Cambridge StreamMagic and SonOS, the Mind is a top-notch product.
