MinimWatch no X11-Window
Hello,

I installed yesterday my first installation of

minimserver
minimstreamer
minimWatch

on a Debian Jessie -System on PC with Gnome 3.14.

Server run no problem but minimWatch has only a Icon in the tray. A double-click on the icon do not open a X11-Window to control the streamer.

What can I do open a window directly without icon use ?

The command line from minimWatch is running its ok !!

thank you for help

Jörg

RE: MinimWatch no X11-Window
You need to right-click on the tray icon to see the menu, not double-click. See this section.

RE: MinimWatch no X11-Window
Ok, right-click.

But if i do this no message-window is shown on.

All other tray-icons have a message-window by right-click

RE: MinimWatch no X11-Window
This doesn't look right. The green minim icon shouldn't have a grey square next to it.

I am not sure why you have installed MinimWatch as well as MinimServer. MinimWatch controls MinimServer instances running on other systems. If this is the only instance of MinimServer that you are running, MinimWatch isn't required and it would be simpler to uninstall it.

Also, what version of Java are you using to run MinimServer? If you are using GNOME Shell, Java 9 or later is required (see this section).

RE: MinimWatch no X11-Window
MinimWatch to configure the Server.

I install the first and have a problem to ran it. The server need a directory for music-data but the setup show me no input-screen to configure the information. So I install minimWatch, with the problem no x11-Window.

Now i found the startc by the server, at this time the command see the wrong config and ask for the directory.

Ok deinstall minimWatch.

Thank you

RE: MinimWatch no X11-Window
This is the start-command for trayIcon

java -jar /home/jo/Downloads/minimwatch/lib/mwatch.jar --launchrc --set watch.view=trayIcon

Can I change watch.view to X11-window command ?

RE: MinimWatch no X11-Window
You are running Java 8 (1.8.0_201). To get the X11 window working with GNOME Shell, you need to be running Java 9 or later.

I don't know whether Debian Jessie has an apt-get package for the correct version of Java. If this isn't available, an alternative is to disable MinimServer desktop integration and run MinimServer from a Terminal window using startc or startd.
