Foobar defaults to ID3v2.3.

To change it:
Code:
Preferences > Advanced > Tagging > MP3 > ID3v2 revision and quirks: Write ID3v2.4 tags (less compatible)

Someone mentioned MusicBee on here a couple of weeks ago, and whilst I wouldn't use it for tagging (I use foobar) it's got a really useful Tag Inspector element so it might be worth a download (there's a portable option). It not only shows you the ID3 version, the MP3 field name (TCON in the case of Genre) but it'll also show you one row per value e.g. if a tag has been correctly stored as a multi-value field you'll see multiple rows (as per the screenshot).

Thanks very much - I changed the Foobar setting and that resolved my issue perfectly. I'll look into MusicBee later as it looks as though it could be really handy.
