Sonos support
hi simon

we have some sonos devices and i haven't realized until now that it is possible to use other UPNP MediaServers as source. sonos uses some customized UPNP stuff to control their devices and have them playing in sync. but it can play music from windows media and rhapsody upnp servers.

it seems that sonos has restricted the support for upnp media servers in general (the reason is unknown), but they support the WMP and rhapsody upnp server.

i have found a "proxy" for sonos that let's it access "normal" upnp media servers.
-> https://github.com/henkelis/sonospy
i suppose it is only a small thing in the "presentation" of the mediarenderer that makes sonos believe it is a WMP or rhapsody upnp server. probably only the "model_name" has to be matching, see
https://github.com/henkelis/sonospy/blob...xy.py#L204

what do you think, if it is a "small" change, would be possible to make minim sonos compatible? probably not as default, but adding a configuration option to set the model_name or so ?

thanks
KoS

I looked at this file. At 8000 lines long, this hardly seems like a "small" change. It's really up to Sonos to support industry standards, not the other way round.
