Thanks for the tip. I've tried this and it works. I'm not too sure about some aspects of the new UI, though. Removing the Devices tab and pushing this functionality into the Library tab seems like a backward step to me. Also, it's awkward that the MinimServer library icon needs to be expanded to reveal a second MinimServer icon from which Rescan can be selected.

Hello Simon, about the "Removing the Devices tab" is there, you have just have to enable this tab in settings>Look and feel>Bottom Tabs>Enabled with additional devices tab.BTW a new released version is out now 2.0.2

Thanks, this alternative layout works better for me. It also makes it easier to initiate a rescan.

RE: BubbleUpNp 2.0.1 v.Android
The biggest problem for me was that the option to display Composer and Album tags in the Now Playing screen had been removed in this major upgrade. For a day or two I feared that BubbleUPnP had lost its status as a classical-friendly controller. However, the author responded rapidly to my cries of pain and this option has now been reinstated.

Overall, I think the new version offers a moderately slicker user interface.

BTW, where do you initiate a MinimServer rescan from BubbleUPnP? All I have found so far is a 'Reload' option available via my left hand Android phone button when viewing the Library screen but pressing that caused no change in the status of MinimWatch.

This is much simpler if you reinstate the Devices tab. After doing this, select Devices and click the three vertical dots icon in the MinimServer entry.

I read the earlier post about enabling the bottom tabs a little too quickly! My bottom tabs were already enabled in BubbleUPnP but I hadn't realised that this came in two flavours. I have now selected the 'Enabled, with additional Devices tab' option and can now trigger MinimServer Rescans from my phone. Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks also to Meffy for bringing this useful facility to my attention.

RE: BubbleUpNp 2.0.1 v.Android
I have a question with regards to the new Bubble upnp: In the previous version when one accessed the 'view metadata' option, in addition to the metadata, the location of the album or file was also stated. Now one only sees the metadata. It is useful to know the location of a particular album to find it easily and then make changes to some tags. Is it possible to ger to know the location of albums in the new version of Bubble?

Thanks for your help

I must confess that I never noticed any path information in the previous 'View metadata' panel but I only accessed this panel on an occasional basis.

If no one answers your question here I would recommend asking it on the XDA forum for BubbleUPnP. The author, aka 'bubbleguuum', is very responsive (just like Simon for MinimServer). Bubbleguuum has already fixed two problems I raised on the XDA forum within the past week or two. He has also made many other technical tweaks to fix issues raised by other users, reflected in the fact that BubbleUPnP is now at version 2.0.3.

I hadn't noticed this change until you pointed it out. In BubbleUPnP 1.x, the metadata included the resource URI of the track (which contains the path information). In BubbleUPnP 2.x, the resource URI is omitted from the metadata. Like you, I would prefer the resource URI to be available.
