I am also in touch with Cambridge audio to find out, for now they say the file I send them is ok. will keep updated if I find out.

It is very unlikely that MinimServer would add support for this nonstandard usage of ID3 tags.

on another topic, since I installed minimserver, I can't play the files if I select the UPnP server of the diskstation (synology) ?

There shouldn't be any interference between MinimServer and the Synology UPnP server. I have run them both at the same time without problems. Are you using Synology Audio Station to play the files?

In fact with ds audio it plays fine, but directly from the minx xi or stream magic it just skip to next song and so on without playing...

anyways if I select minimserver UPnP it plays fine

thanks

ok still trying to figure out how to read/convert theses files...

- aac files play fines with synology dsaudio app.
- itunes won't recognize/play them
- minimserver get this error message : invalid ADTS header 0x49443303000000

if I just change the extension of the file to .mp3 :
- now I can play the song using the preview (tab) function on my macbook
- itunes still won't recognize/play the file
- minimserver's log : no valid MPEG header near offset 2384

- xld won't open the files .aac or .mp3...

any ideas ? using mp3tag to reset good tagging ?

thx

It might be possible to use the file conversion feature of dBpoweramp to remove these incorrect ID3v2 tags. You would need to ask on the dBpoweramp forum whether it can handle an AAC file containing an ID3v2 tag. If so, you could "convert" from AAC to AAC without writing the tag to the output AAC file.
