Updated to 2.2 broke all network content folders
I updated to 2.2 and now all my content folders don't work.
Z:\Music
Z:\Share\CD
U:\SACD 5.1
Z:\Music3\Music Videos
I tried again using IP addresses instead of mapped drive letters.
No joy. The error states, in red:
Not a valid file; correct highlighted value and retry
I have searched for the 2.1.2 installer so I can roll back and enjoy music again but I cannot even find a place to download older versions.
I am very frustreated at the moment and am sorry if that comes across. Does anyone have the answer to this, or the 2.1.2 installer to get me going again?
Thank you.

RE: Updated to 2.2 broke all network content folders
I'm not aware of any changes from 2.1.2 to 2.2 that could cause this problem.

You can't use IP adresses for contentDir paths. You need to go back to your original settings using drive letters. Please do this, then reboot the machine and check that you are able to view the mapped folders in Windows Explorer. If the folder contents are visible in Windows Explorer but you are getting an error message when you start MinimServer, please post the complete exact text of the message.

I cannot provide support for older versions of MinimServer. This is why downloads for older versions are not available. Instead, I will work with you to get your 2.2 installation running correctly as soon as possible.

RE: Updated to 2.2 broke all network content folders
Hello Simon.

Thank you for your reply. It is reassuring that network drives should still work.
My collection of Z shares is from a Qnap NAS.
The U share is from a USB drive connected to the NAS.
The files were accessible from a PC, Windows Explorer.l
The NAS still had 1TB free. However, something strange was obviously happening with the NAS because I saved the shares verbatim in Notepad, but they weren't working after the update.
I have restarted it, and now all shares work except Z:\Music. Accessible in Windows Explorer, but cannot be added as a collection in MinimServer.
So I am now copying the entire Z:\Music to my U drive and will share from there.
I really need to get on top of my storage situation, I do not need issues like this. Looking at TrueNAS as an option for a large collection of backed up Blurays, CD as FLAC and SACD as DSD, as well as other data.Currently using two older Qnap NAS 4bay units, and an old Synology- all populated with 4TB drives, no point upgrading as they cannot handle greater than 6TB.
OMG the transfer rate from the Qnap RAID to its USB deive, 11MB/s.Estimated 23 hours to back up a terabyte.

In short, no issue with the MinimServer update, unfortunate the NAS decided to play up when I did the update. Bad timing. And hard to spot the issue because folders were still accessible via my computer / Windows.
Thanks again, this issue is closed. Should this topic now be deleted so as to not confuse anyone else?

RE: Updated to 2.2 broke all network content folders
Thanks for this update. I don't understand why MinimServer couldn't access Z:\Music. Was there an error message when you tried to add it to contentDir or did MinimServer just not read the contents? If there was a message, what did the message say?

I would prefer to leave this thread in the forum because it might be helpful to someone else facing a similar issue.
