Minimwatch Not Opening in Windows
Minimwatch is greyed out when started in Windows 11. All other functions on QNAP and iPad are working normally but I have no means of rescanning library from Windows.

RE: Minimwatch Not Opening in Windows
Check your Windows network type, it should be Private and not Public
You can access Minimserver by browser too at the url http://nas-ip-address:9790 from where you can issue a rescan and modify the configuration |

RE: Minimwatch Not Opening in Windows
Thanks that allows me to do a rescan.
Network is private and behind a NordVPN. The only recent change I can think of that may be relevant is a Java Windows update. |

RE: Minimwatch Not Opening in Windows
Java updates can change the Windows firewall settings to block Java (and MinimWatch) from receiving inbound connections. Check your firewall settings for Java TM Platform SE binary.

Check your firewall settings for Java TM Platform SE binary. Firewall is managed by Norton and all instances of Java are allowed. I can’t see anything in the Java control panel that suggests it is blocking Minimwatch. Would you like me to send you the log file. |

RE: Minimwatch Not Opening in Windows
You need to look in the Windows Firewall settings, not the Java control panel. For details of how to do this and fix the problem, see this post.

Regarding firewall settings, here is a screen capture from a Windows 10 PC. You go to Windows Settings and follow the path indicated at the top of the window. I believe each instance of Java has two listings, one for outbound connection with the Internet and one for inbound. Here inbound is allowed while outbound is not allowed, for two instances of Java. |
