RE: MinimServer/BubbleUPnP/J River combo doesn't do gapless
Something strange has just happened. I just restarted playback of that 17 track work to check just how many tracks were actually played (from memory it just did tracks 1, 12 and 17) and now all tracks are being played in sequence without any gaps!!!
I'm not aware of having made any other change during the past few minutes ![]() David |

Maybe you had shuffle enabled ? |

Shuffle was not set. The Shuffle setting in BubbleUPnP immediately changes the playlist sequence so it is pretty obvious and in any case it wouldn't cause tracks to be missed altogether.
However, the problem has now disappeared (hopefully for good). David |

I have been experimenting with J River's Gizmo app on my phone as well as BubbleUPnP. Is it possible that my problems were caused by some sort of interaction between these two control points?

I think this is the result of applying the MinimServer fix. The playlist would need to be reconstructed after the fix has been applied. |

I hate problems that just go away without any explanation, as I'm always afraid they will come back later. Since I mentioned the subject, are there any issues I should be aware of when more than one control point has been used? David |

RE: MinimServer/BubbleUPnP/J River combo doesn't do gapless
I have decided to "promote" the test build for Synology 2-port NAS models to be the main download. I think it has had enough testing by now to confirm that it does fix the problems that some users have been seeing. I have updated the MinimServer website to change the download link.

I think that using two control points for a single standard UPnP renderer (i.e. a renderer without the OpenHome extension) at the same time is not the best idea. As each of the control points would be eager to force its own playlist, this will probably mean conflicts and unexpected effects. |

Exactly: one should never use 2 or more control points controlling the same UPnP AV renderer at the same time, as it is a recipe for chaos and unpredictability. |
