Brand new user help please!

Hi all,
Please excuse my lack of knowledge...
I am totally new to this so here goes.

I have a Seagate 5tb PersonalCloud NAS drive that I have a ton of music, files etc backed up on.
I've been advised to take a look at installing a music server so that my Linn Majik DSM can stream from. At the moment, files are all over the place and the Linn App isn't showing new folders I'm adding.

I have no idea how to make this happen or whether I have the correct information.

Any help greatly appreciated.

From this page, it looks like your Personal Cloud NAS is no longer supported by Seagate. It can still function as a file server but other features are apparently no longer available.

I think you will have much more success with a new NAS from either Synology or QNAP. These are the industry leaders for NAS and their products are well supported with a very wide selection of apps. You can run a UPnP media server (MinimServer or other alternatives) on both of these and this will work well with the Linn app. When you copy your music from your current NAS to your new NAS, you will have the opportunity to reorganise the folder structure so that your files are where you can find them easily.
