FFMPEG cannot be installed

Hi

I use an ARMv7 DSM 7.1 Synology NAS (ds214+). I want to run FFMPEG in Minimserver/OPT/BIN but I can't find a static FFMPEG version that will work. Whenever I update the stream.converter property in MinimWatch I receive the error "Converter not installed; correct highlighted value and retry". The entry I use is "MinimServer/opt/bin/ffmpeg"

I have used various versions of the software, all of them 32 bit ArmHF. What am I doing wrong?

The stream.converter entry should just be opt/bin/ffmpeg. If you leave this field blank, MimimStreamer will detect your ffmpeg executable and set the correct value.

Using the path "opt/bin/ffmpeg" or "/opt/bin/ffmpeg" still gives the same error message. Which FFMPEG will MinimStreamer pick up if the field is left blank? The one I copied to /opt/bin/ffmpeg or the ancient version of FFMPEG that comes with DSM?

If you have placed the static ffmpeg executable in the shared folder MinimServer/opt/bin (the recommended location) and you leave the stream.converter property blank, MinimServer will detect and use this executable in preference to the ffmpeg executable preinstalled by DSM. It will indicate that it is using this executable by setting the stream.converter field to opt/bin/ffmpeg.

If this is not working for you, check that the ffmpeg file in MinimServer/opt/bin has execute permission for all users.

If you have checked this and it is still not working, please post a screenshot from File Station showing the contents of the MinimServer/opt/bin folder.

Execute rights were missing. I had to edit the permissions on the file and add Execute privileges to the file in DSM. Thank you for the help!
