RE: Can't see Minim Server icon in my MacBook
the no class definition has gone and there is no error message and the Minim Server icon is seen in my Uniti Atom so I think the problem is the Minim watch application and the wrong Java installation, hopefully I can work the Terminal commands, thanks so much for helping me out and sticking with this!

I'm pleased to hear the NoClassDefFoundError has gone.

If you are running MinimWatch on your Mac (not MinimServer), it should work with Java 19. Have you tried this?

RE: Can't see Minim Server icon in my MacBook
I have uninstalled Java 19 and saw a Terminal reply which suggested I was now running 17 but still no menu icon from the MinimWatch. I think MinimServer is running normally on the QNAP and have attached the latest log. Actually I run the QNAP from the Naim app on my iPhone 14 and it works well playing all my ANAP music and streaming on Spotify and internet radio which is all I need. If I pay for the full license for Minim Server what else will I gain? Very happy to do this if the extra functionality will be worth it.
Simon

This log shows that MinimServer is working correctly on your QNAP. I don't think there is any need for you to send any more QNAP logs.

The full version of MinimServer includes indexes for recently added and recently played files, artwork for all menu selections, the ability to select files by audio resolution and a number of other features.

Are you running MinimServer or MinimWatch on your Mac? It should be MinimWatch. Your reference to the MinimServer icon suggests you are running MinimServer. Please clarify.

RE: Can't see Minim Server icon in my MacBook
MinimServer is installed on my QNAP, MinimWatch is installed on my MacBook. The icon comes and goes on my Menu Bar for some reason but is always grey. Since MinimServer is working, I propose to pay the full licence as all is working well and I can access my music which is the important thing, thanks for your help Simon!

I think you will appreciate the additional features in the full version of MinimServer.

I am wondering when the icon "goes" on your menu bar whether it might still be there but with low contrast that make it hard to see.

With recent versions of macOS and Java, MinimWatch uses a template icon when MinimServer is running normally. This means the icon background is transparent and the icon colour is either black or white depending on the colours of your selected theme and/or desktop image. It is possible that there might be some colour combinations that make the icon hard to see. Please post a screenshot of your Mac desktop when the icon is "missing" so that I can check whether this might be happening.

RE: Can't see Minim Server icon in my MacBook
What's weird is the the icon continues to come and go but here are screenshots when its not and when the icon is there. hen I click it seems to me it brings up the minim server menu although if it appears again, I'll try and capture it. But I am going to buy the license as my QNAP is now working well, perhaps because I now have MinimServer2

RE: Can't see Minim Server icon in my MacBook
Thanks for the screenshots. They clearly show this isn't a "low contrast" issue.

The only thing I can think of that could cause this is the network dropping out for some reason. This could be caused by a multicast discovery problem with your network (see this page). If MinimWatch loses contact with MinimServer, the icon should change to grey, which isn't what you are seeing.

Can you try to describe when the icon is there and when it isn't? For example, it is there for 5 minutes, then gone for 20 minutes, then back again? Is the coming and going related to anything you do on the QNAP or on other network devices?

RE: Can't see Minim Server icon in my MacBook
Ah, think I am making progress thanks to you Simon! I activated the 30 day full license for MinimServer, opened MinimWatch on my Mac and the icon appeared and when I clicked it I was give MinimServer options. The screen shot shows the properties tag. Does this make sense? (it doesn't to me). I'll read the guide and how do I pay for the full license. It asked me for details but I can't find an email providing these. Sorry to be such a nuisance.
