IP-address of MinimServer different to IP-address of NAS

We are using a synology NAS, a Linn streamer DS-I, FritzBox 6591 by AVM and powerlines by AVM.

The iP-address of the NAS and the IP-address of the MinimServer are different.

The helpline of Linn - we had some problems with the access of the MinimServer with the Linn-iPhone-Apps - asked if this is normal or could cause problems.

Each device on your system has a local IP address that is used within your local network to identify the device and enable it to communicate with other local devices. This local address would normally look like one of the following:

192.168.0.x
192.168.1.x
10.0.0.x

whe x is a number beween 1 and 255.

In addition, when any of your local devices communicates on the internet, it uses a network IP address for this. This network IP address is the same for all your local devices and is different from the local IP address.

If MinimServer is running on your Synology NAS, it will have the same local IP address as the NAS. What is making you think that the local IP address for MinimServer is not the same as the local IP address for the NAS?

Today is a new day and the IP-address is the same as the IP-address of the Minim-Server.

The IP address can change when the DHCP lease expires. Perhaps this is what happened.
