Version mismatch?
EDIT: problem misinterpreted
Hi, I installed Minimwatch 2.1 on Windows 10 but in fact it turns out to be 2.0.19 (in About...). A dialogue box warns about this and says that I should install 2.1 for continued support. I thought I just did. Uninstalling first and trying again doesn't help. I also have the problem of Windows considering Minimwatch as "dangerous" but this is easily circumvented. Apparently, Microsoft uses the same routine for Edge hence the no download issue. Firefox: no problem. It's the safest mainstream browser anyway (as long as you tell it to NOT phone home)... But I'm more concerned about the possible "version mismatch". Cheers, |

I think MinimServer on your QNAP is "old" and Minimwatch on your PC is "new" |

But how Minimwatch can morph from one version into another, I don't see with your explanation. I downloaded & installed 2.1 and it comes out as 2.0.19? Anyway, I think I did update Minimserver on the NAS. But I'll double-check. Cheers, |

RE: Version mismatch?
The messages in your screenshots say that MinimServer is at 2.0.19 and should be updated to 2.1. They say nothing about the version of MinimWatch.

It has been a while since I *thought* I upgraded Minimserver on the QNAP NAS. I remember having had problems, because it isn't part of QNAP's app control system. I checked again yesterday night and it indeed was stuck on 2.0.19. So I had to remove it altogether and install the new version manually which it eventually did. Furthermore, I sometimes confuse minimwatch with minimserver, as evidenced by the screen prints. I apologise for that and I'll take the screens down. ![]() Thanks for the info to point me to the real problem. ![]() Cheers, |

RE: Version mismatch?
You are by no means the only person to have thought a message from MinimServer was coming from MinimWatch (or vice versa).
For future reference, when updating MinimServer on the QNAP to a new version it is not necessary to uninstall the previous version. For a step-by-step guide, see this section. |
