Excellent! Managed to browse from top level down thru 2 Artist views to detailed album / individual song content. All cover and other relevant info is showing in the app!! Smile

Attached the log per your instructions. Will continue testing this version to see if it starts acting up.Thx, BB

Thanks very much! I don't see any problems in the log now. If you haven't found any more problems by Monday, I'll send a patch for these fixes to the ohNet developers.

Spent over an hour yesterday browsing through various standard views and everything appeared to be working just fine. Performance was also acceptable. Thanks for all of your help and looking forward to the implementation in the next release. Smile

@Simoncn

Spent a couple more day testing and have noticed that when playing 192 / 24 Flac files that there are intermittent pauses in the music. (connection via ethernet cable so no wireless) Strangely enough streaming of the same file via the DS412+ hosted Minin server thru my Oppo Player as control point contains no pauses at all. (same network segment) Any ideas?

If the server and wiring setup is same in the working case (with the OPPO as renderer) and the failing case (with the Simaudio MOON MiND as renderer), this seems to point to a problem with the Simaudio MOON MiND. Perhaps it has a very small buffer and isn't keeping enough buffered data to handle 192/24 reliably. Can you ask on a Simaudio forum whether other users are having this problem?

Simaudio claims that the MiND can handle up to 24/192 for all formats it supports. I have not noticed any problems with mine but will check today or tomorrow by playing some files that I know to be 24/192 files.

@magister: Curious to hear if you encountered any problems with the files you tested? Strangely enough my dropouts do not occur with all 24/192 files but only with certain ones. For example, all files contained in the album from Jen Chapin's "Revisions" which I purchased from HDTracks drops every 10 seconds. On the hand, The Eagle's "Hotel California" plays without a glitch. Huh I have contacted customer support from SimAudio but have not received any response to date. Sad

I tested three files after making my last post and found no problems. (Sorry for slow followup -- I've been away.) I have MinimServer set to transcode to wav24; not sure if that might make a difference.

Magister,

Thanks for the reference to the transcode setting. I configured mine also for wav24 and now all of my 24/192 files are dropping. This indicates to me that my network stability may not be sufficient enough for the mind when dealing with files of that size? How many network components do you have between your NAS and the mind? Btw., it might be my imagination but aftering setting the transcode to wav24, my 16/44 flac files sound considerably better. Smile

In my audio rack resides an Apple Airport Extreme (used only as a switch and source of wi-fi), connected to an ethernet connection from the wall; the other three plugs are used for my NAS, my DAC, and the MiND. Nice short cables to everything Smile My first NAS, a Synology DS112j, had a minute amount of memory and a slow processor and couldn't transcode files above 24/96 well. Moving up a couple of steps in the Synology line (DS213) solved the problem.

You're not the only one. As Simon says, some people definitely hear a difference and some don't. In my case the difference is modest but I leave wav24 on since it does seem to be an improvement.
