Which platform are you using to run MinimServer?

I am running it on an Intel based 412+ Synology NAS.

Update: Manually installed the test build on top of the exisiting Version. Although the installation was successful, it crashes after approx. 10 seconds. referencing the log file.

Update Part 2: After successfully installing the test build, the server is running but the app performance is poor. Will compare Minic Server performance with a pc based foobar control point tomorrow and attempt to isolate the problem. (app vrs. server build)

You can enable Debug or Trace logging using the MinimWatch log window. This shows low-level events with millisecond timings, and is very useful for analysing performance issues.

Thanks for the tip!Smile

If I can dedicate some time to it this evening, I will take a look at the log and come back to you.

@Magister: How large is your library? Are you not encountering any performance issues with the Mind App? Some of the standard Minim Server provided views either take forever, or do not populate at all, in the App.. Huh

My library is small (~250 albums, although I have 500+ CDs waiting to be ripped . . . ). I have not encountered issues such as you describe; in fact, I'd describe the MiND app as quite zippy, even though all my classical albums have several custom tags in addition to the usual ones. I have spent quite a bit of time tweaking my network for general reliability; don't know if that matters here.

Is there a repeatable scenario that consistently shows slow performance? If so please do the following:

1) In the log window, set the logging level to Debug
2) Leave the log window open
3) Run the scenario
4) In the log window, click "Save as" to save the log
5) In the log window, set the logging level back to Info
6) Zip the log file and attach it here, together with details of exactly what you did in step 3)

Edit: There is a known issue with Synology models that have 2 LAN ports. This issue can cause the problems you have described. To fix this, you need to set the ohnet.subnet property as described in this post.

simoncn,

I have changed the ohnet subnet prperty field as described and it did not change the behaviour. Moving between the different views in the app brings inconsistent results. Sometimes I see the results of the query for the next sublevel and sometimes it is just blank. Also the navigation is erradic. Sometimes it just jumps all the way back to the top level although I just want to back up one. I have attached the log file for your reference. Hope you see something which is reflecting the cause of the problem. Thx, BB
