I know that it is not possible to download directly from an embedded linux system via wget or other minimserver.
So you should switch to another pc and then copy the file to the system and update it.

My question is if I can copy the tar.gz file to my github page and have other users I know download it from there.
Or is it not possible for licensing reasons?
I could create an update script where you accept the license terms?

Thanks for asking about this. The license terms do not allow redistribution of MinimServer (see point 1 on this page), so this would not be permitted.
