RE: Announcing MinimServer 2 for QNAP
I am not the only moderator and I do know who the other moderators are. I have investigated what happened. The thread was not closed intentionally and this matter is now closed.
I am pleased to hear that your settings reappeared when you activated the license. The new location for the configuration files means that settings will no longer be lost when MinimServer is uninstalled. This has caused problems for some users who uninstalled their current version of MinimServer either to install a new version or to try to solve a problem. The location of the ffmpeg binary has changed in MinimServer 2 to make it simpler for users. The opt/bin folder is now located in the 'MinimServer' shared folder, as described on this page. |

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2 for QNAP
I plan to upgrade from my current Minimserver installations to the paid-for MinimServer 2. I notice there are two QNAP installation files for Arm processors. How do I tell which one I need? I have a 219PII and a 112P, but cannot find which Arm processor they use. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

Hi Wammer, you want the Armv5 files for both of those - here's the installation notes for QNAP https://minimserver.com/minimserver2/install-qnap.html 'troll |

And I would appreciate to get a kind of notification from you before you lock a thread down while I was editing some additional information. In the end I was happy that Peter wrote to me so I knew that something was going on. Otherwise I would have been pretty upset tbh. Me sitting with a problem, you closing the thread with no communication to me left me in limbo. I have lost the properties due to my blindflight repair actions. So I am pretty upset tbh. Simon, from your comments above am I right in thinking that MinimServer 2 runs alongside 0.8 and doesn’t replace it? In other words if I don’t like v2 (unlikely, but possible) or have initial problems with it, I can revert to using 0.8? |

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2 for QNAP
On QNAP, you can't have both MinimServer 2 and 0.8.5 running at the same time but you can go back to 0.8.5. See this post for more details.

Thanks, Simon, that's the answer I was looking for! I'll have a crack at installing tomorrow. I presume it doesn't matter which I install first, MinimServer 2 on my QNAPs or MinimWatch 2 on my Mac? |

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2 for QNAP
It's probably best to install MinimWatch 2 first in case there are any issues when you install MinimServer 2.

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2 for QNAP
Simon I can't see any mention of the HS-453DX in the setup instructions. This has a Celerion processor.
