RE: MinimServer or Synology Mediaserver
I'm using DISCSUBTITLE to get songs listed as different CDs on the same merged box albums Simon.
This way I keep the Cd box organisation, Track 1 from Cd2 is listed as 1, not as the next of the last from Cd1, if you follow me, but DISCSUBTITLE is not needed to get albums merged you're right. Erik, if you start Minimserver from scratch, I really suggest you to think again about your tagging method : Setting Bach as Artist is not a good idea. I'm not an expert in the Tagging Art method, but for me most of the time I'm browsing my library by generic gendar first (Jazz, classical, contemporary, French Writers), then AlbumArtist Or Artists for Jazz, But for Classical/contemporary music it's Gendar>Composer, then Artist or Conductor or Orchestra... it works for me, and that's why Minimserver is so effective : let you browse your library the way YOU like it depending on the music your looking for

RE: MinimServer or Synology Mediaserver
Do you have your tagging program configured to not change the date of the audio file when it makes changes? If so, your tag changes mght not be picked up by MinimServer when you do a rescan.

RE: MinimServer or Synology Mediaserver
As far as I can see from a quick web search, these files are part of an album comprising 2 CDs. What is the set of 9 CDs that contains these files? How are the other 7 CDs tagged?

RE: MinimServer or Synology Mediaserver
When files are in the same directory, MinimServer uses only the ALBUM tag for merging. When the files are in different directories, the ALBUM, ARTIST, ALBUMARTIST and DISCNUMBER tags are used. As the files are merged when in the same directory, this means that there is an issue with the ARTIST, ALBUMARTIST or DISCNUMBER tags for the files.
If all the files have the same ALBUMARTIST tag and correct DISCNUMBER tags (1, 2, ...., 9), the allbum will be merged across different directories. |

RE: MinimServer or Synology Mediaserver
On the NAS, I have playlists. Is it possible to ad songs to it or only on the local playlists? (from within the Android App)

RE: MinimServer or Synology Mediaserver
Depending on which Android app you are using, you might be able to create or modify a local playlist from the app. You would not be able to create or modify a server playlist.
