Possible to show music file encoding details?

Good question. The User Guide says that

"The special value #AudioData indexes the audio data for the file (sample bit depth, sample rate and bit rate)."

I just checked with another control point (Kazoo) and its also only showing sample rate.

EDIT...seems like #audiodata is working for files except MP3. I checked FLAC, DSF, DFF, WAV. Any idea why MP3 does not work?

How are you getting the song length to display? Is this something that the control point is adding? Which control point are you using?

For lossy files, #AudioData shows the bit rate. For lossless files, it shows the bit depth and sample rate.

Thank you Simon. Yeah I figured out that MP3s dont show bit depth.

As for song length, it is displayed in BubbleUPnP (but not in Kazoo). I thought it was information Minimserver passes to the control point.

This isn't coming from MinimServer. I presume it is being added by BubbleUPnP at the end of the title information that MinimServer sends.

It is part of the UPnP metadata that the server sends to the control point.

So in BubbleUPnP there is an option to not display song length. Can I instead use Title.displayformat and add it? Is there a tag for song length? I couldnt find it in the manual.

This isn't possible at present. I will add it to the list of requested enhancements for a future release.

Simon, it would be nice if Minimserver could shorten the sample rate instead of displaying the complete number. For example, instead of displaying 44100 show 44.1 instead. When displaying DSF sample rates, the number gets long! 2822400!
