Install Help.

Trying to install 0.8.4 on a windows 10 PC. I went to the Java site and installed the latest version also.

After it installs I get the desktop icon. Open that and it jut opens up 7 Zip with three files in it.

META_INF
LICENSE.txt

Any ideas what's wrong?

It sounds like you have the .jar file extension associated with 7-Zip as the default program to open the file. For MinimServer to launch, you need the .jar extension to be associated with the Java runtime. If you open 7-Zip and select Tools > Options, is 'jar' associated? If so, you need to remove this association.

I'm sure you're right but I can't find jar anywhere in the options of 7 Zip.

So, I went to the properties of the MinimServer on the desktop and selected Change. Found Java.exe and chose that as the new program to open it. Now when I click on it there's a quick flash of a command prompt window and that's it??

Googled and found a program called jarfix and it did fix my issue with opening Minimserver. Unfortunately, I still can't serve music to my receiver (that's the whole point of installing miniserver).

Can you provide more detail about the problem?
