RE: Stopped working since update
How are you starting MinimServer? Does it start automatically when you start the iMac or are you double-clicking MinimServer from the Applications folder? If MinimServer is starting automatically, there might be a timing issue with local network access not being enabled when MinimServer does its check for this.

RE: Stopped working since update
Hi Simon
Sorry for the delay in reply. My forum settings are to receive an email when there would be a new post in this thread however it did not arrive (or is in my SPAM box). First off a nice hello to you. I am glevethan from the original Linn forum - and remember back in the day when you embarked on a native MAC OS version so we could all abandon TWONKY. In fact I was an original contributor when you first started! I have read your reply, and yes, MinimServer was set to automatically start on boot up in the Mac. I just deactivated automatic start up, restarted the iMac, and then double clicked from the Applications folder. Unfortunately - same result and same network error message MinimServer 2.2 update 255, Copyright © 2012-2024 Simon Nash. All rights reserved. RE: Stopped working since update
Do you have the latest 2.2.r4 version of MinimServer? To make sure you are using this version, drag the MinimServer app to the Trash, then download and install 2.2.r4 in your Applications folder.
Also, I see that you are using Sequoia 15.1. I have tested on 15.0 and 15.0.1 but not on 15.1. I will try installing 15.1 to see what happens. |

RE: Stopped working since update
I have just seen this myself on Sequoia 15.0. After a reboot, both MinimServer and MinimWatch were blocked for local network access even though access for both was shown as enabled in Privacy & Security > Local Network. I disabled local network access for MinimServer (only) and re-enabled it. After this, both MinimServer and MinimWatch were able to access the local network.
This looks to me like a Sequoia issue with Local Network access, especially as disabling/enabling MinimServer also made MinimWatch start working. Also, a web search found a recent report of the same problem with another app. |

RE: Stopped working since update
I have installed Sequoia 15.1 and I am consistently seeing the behaviour you have described. I also installed the Linn app from the App Store and this doesn't have the issue but connects to the local network immediately. I will continue to investigate why this is happening.

RE: Stopped working since update
Nice to see (or rather not nice) that you have been able to recreate the issue. The solution I have been using is as you described - disable and then re-enable.
Before posting to this thread I did some sleuthing on the inter webs. I seem to recall you querying Apple on a developer forum about an issue similar to this? |

RE: Stopped working since update
After trying some experimental changes to try to solve this (without success), I have posted a description of the problem to the Apple developer forums. I hope this will provide a solution.

RE: Stopped working since update
This problem appears to be fixed on Sequoia 15.2.
After updating to Sequoia 15.2 from either 15.0 or 15.1, all previously set local network access permissions are removed. This means you need to give MinimServer and/or MinimWatch local network access permission when you start them for the first time after the update. After you have done this, rebooting does not disable local network access permissions as it did on previous versions of Sequoia. |
