You didn't see a red X button under post #1 because I had added post #2. If I hadn't done this and your post #1 were the only post in the thread, you would have seen the red X button.
Post #1 of the thread has different rules from other posts. Because deleting this post would delete the whole thread, there is no red X button under post #1 if posts from other users have been added to the thread. You should see the red X button under your post #3 (between the Edit and Reply buttons) and you should be able to delete this post. Thread deletion is not allowed (except for administrators) because of a previous incident where a user decided to delete a number of threads they had created. These threads included posts from other users containing iimportant technical information. I will use my administrator powers to delete this thread when you confirm you have seen this reply. |
