Most played / least played.

Good morning.

I have a problem that I’m sure will be easy to solve but I’ve no idea how. I’ve searched the forum but I’ve either used the wrong terms or I’m useless (probably the latter!).

I’ve a QNAP 251+ running Minimserver 2.1.2 into a Linn DS. I control this with the white Linn app, version 4.5.6.3 on an iPad.

What I’d like to do is search for most played/least played. When I use the Linn app and click on browse, I get radio and Minimserver as I'd expect. When I click on Minimserver, I get several options which are XXX number albums, XXX number tracks, Artist, Date, Genre, All artists, Composer and [folder view] which for some reason is in brackets.

Is it possible to add most/least played to my options or is this a limitation of the Linn app? I asked Linn who weren’t too helpful TBH.

I’ve no issues with changing to another app, I used Lumin for a while, but my very limited knowledge which allows me to play and search very happily stops here. I’m very happy to pay for whatever it takes.

I’m sure this functionality is easy to add but I’ve no idea how.

Linn app can show Recent/Last Played and Recent/Last Added albums , just follow this guide

Thank you Stefano, I was aware of this but this isn't what I wanted.

I've a modest collection of albums, most of which were ripped at the same time when I first got the DS about 10 years ago. When I had the CDs on display on shelves it was reasonably quick and easy to see what I had. Now I have everything ripped, searching is different. As I'm sure you know, using the Linn app you need to know what you are searching for. Browsing is a much more complicated matter when there are 500+ different artists and 3000+ different CDs.

What I'd like to do is have an easy way of uncovering the hidden gems in my collection, i.e. the CDs/tracks that I've least played.

I'm very happy with all of the other functionality of the system but this would be very useful, to me at least.

As far as I know that feature isn’t available in Minimserver.

This is not possible currently and I don't see any practical way of implementing it in MinimServer. It would require keeping a history of all items played (and not played) over many years. MinimServer doesn't have any means of storing this type of information.

Thanks Simon. I love your work but I'm sad this isn't possible. As I said in the OP I'm very happy with what I've got but this would have been the cherry on the icing on the cake.
