Minim server on Windows with HEOS
Hello
Having briefly experienced the joys of Minim on a Synology NAS, I thought I'd set it up on my Windows server (version 2016 Essentials). As far as I can see it is all set up correctly; the icon is green and all the folders seem to be correctly set, but my two HEOS amps are not seeing it. I have Plex running on the same server with DLNA turned on, and I am able to play from this. At one point I had Serviio on the server, and never experienced any problems with that either - other than hating the way the Genre selection works. Any ideas, please? Many thanks John |

RE: Minim server on Windows with HEOS
It sounds like MinimServer is being blocked by the Windows firewall. To unblock it, do the following:
1) Check that the Windows network type on the server is Private, not Public 2) In the Windows firewall advanced settings, check that the rules allow inbound connections to Java TM Platform SE binary for both TCP and UDP on Private networks |

RE: Minim server on Windows with HEOS
Thanks, that did the trick. It was actually domain connected rather than private, as I found out by turning off each portion of the firewall until Minim appeared.
Great advice, thanks. |
