Automatic Refresh
Is there a way to configure Automatic Refresh of the Music Albums added to the Music folder of MinimServer instead of doing it manually ? Kindly advise..

RE: Automatic Refresh
This isn't available with MinimServer. Automatic rescan has a number of issues including the following:
1) The overhead of checking whether new music has been added. This can consume a significant amount of system resources, which can degrade sound quality when listening to music. 2) The difficulty of knowing when to trigger an automatic rescan. For example, should this be immediately after a change to the library is detected? If the user is making 5 related changes, this will trigger 5 rescans which is not desirable. If there is some delay after a set of changes has been made, the user might be waiting too long for the automatic rescan to start and/or might not be sure whether the automatic rescan has started or completed. THe present approach puts the user in control with no surprises. All the user needs to do is to select Rescan when a group of changes is complete. If music is playing when the rescan starts, it will continue to play during the rescan. |

RE: Automatic Refresh
Backing up a step, how does music get added to the folder? If you do that manually, you could instead invoke a script that adds the music and does a Minimserver rescan. (This would be for Minimserver running on Windows or Linux; I don't know about things like QNAP and Synology.) Write the script once, use it forever.
