Case (in)sensitivity for tag values
I don't like that minimserver is case sensitive. So "System of a Down", "System of A Down", "System Of a Down" and "System Of A Down" makes four entries in the artist-list.
I couldn't find a way to disable case sensitivity. Google search advises to change the minimiserver.conf, which I can't find anywhere on my system. Any ideas? Thank you... |

RE: Case (in)sensitivity for tag values
MinimServer has always worked this way and there is no option to change it.
If an artist appears with different case (Some Artist and Some artist) and MinimServer were to match these as being the same, how would it know which spelling is correct and should appear in the artist list? As things are, the user is made aware of the different spellings and can use a tagging program to edit tags and choose which they prefer. Also, there are other situations where different variants of an artist name could be used, such as '&' vs 'and', commas or hyphens included or omitted, etc. Trying to allow for all these variants would be a never-ending task and has the same issue of MinimServer needing to decide which variant is correct. |
