It happens to me too when I change a file name/path of a recently played file/album
… you can find the recent played file following this guide

RE: Unknown path on line 67 of played-files.txt
Another possiblity is that you might have have changed your contentDir setting. If you look at line 67 of the played-files.txt file, you will see the path that cannot be found.

The location of the played-files.txt file depends on what device is being used to run MinimServer. What device are you using?

Minim Server on a Windows 11 computer. My music files are all on a Seagate 4TB hard disk. Would MinimServer write to that portable External Hard drive?

I did search for the content file on my computer but it was nowhere to be found in the MinimServer folder on my Windows 11 computer!

RE: Unknown path on line 67 of played-files.txt
If I deleted MinimServer and reinstalled it from scratch... would that solve my problem?
I would just have to point Minim to my directories on my portable HD. I don't use playlists.
I just select the Albums I want to hear. I only have 3 directories: Concertos, Symphonies, Opera.
I don't even use the option that gives me the possibility to play something that was played before.
I do sometimes use the added recently function and have had no problems on that front.
I might just well just delete the *RecentPlayed option. That would take care of the error messages!

RE: Unknown path on line 67 of played-files.txt
On Windows, you can find the played-files.txt file in this folder:

C:\Users\your-user-name\AppData\Roaming\MinimServer\recent

You can use Notepad to look at this file and find line 67. The AppData folder is hidden by default but you can view this folder by typing the full path into the Windows Explorer address bar.

Deleting MinimServer and reinstalling it will not make this message go away. Removing *RecentPlayed will make this message go away.

RE: Unknown path on line 67 of played-files.txt
Thank you. It worked.
I don't know what I did to trip this error code... but I now know how to find the ''hidden'' content file
and just erase the faulty lines.
Thank you so much. I wouldn't have found the content file by myself that's for sure!

RE: Unknown path on line 67 of played-files.txt
I am glad you have solved the problem. The lines you have removed were referencing files that are either no longer on your system or are not accessible from your current contentDir settings.

I think it would be better to treat these two cases differently. If the file still exists but is not accessible from the current contentDir settings, the played-files.txt entry should be retained without producing a warning message. If the file no longer exists, MinimServer should remove the line from played-files.txt without producing a message.

It can sometimes be difficult to be sure a file no longer exists. For example, files in a shared network folder might appear to no longer exist because the network folder isn't currently mounted, then might reappear when the folder is mounted again. I will need to think carefully about how to handle this situation.

RE: Unknown path on line 67 of played-files.txt
MinimServer update 246 (just released) no longer shows these messages. It does not remove lines from the played-files.txt file because of the possibility that the files might still exist but not currently be accessible to MinimServer.
