Playlists, MINIMSERVER, Denon HEOS

BubbleUPnP is a control point (like HEOS) that runs on an Android phone or tablet. I think you will find that your SonicOrbiter has BubbleUPnP Server preinstalled, which is something very different despite the similar name.

Tag view is the normal MinimServer view of your library. On most UPnP control points (including BubbleUPnP), you will see tag view automatically when you select your MinimServer library. Tag view uses the tags in your files to create a browsing index that is very flexible and automatically adapts to the way you prefer to browse your library ("intelligent browsing"). In tag view, you can browse by Albums, Artists, Genres and Tracks (like HEOS) and you can also browse using other selections such as Date, Composer, audio file type (FLAC. MP3, etc.) and resolution (CD, hi-res) as well as viewing your recently added and recently played albums and tracks. You can also add any other tags to your files and see these in the tag view index.

Yes, I recall trying BubbleUPnP a few years ago, but didn't use it. Not sure what I found lacking, I'll try it again.

I used the trick mentioned in that post from several years ago you referenced (adding an empty directory to the core drive) and it reduces the steps needed to get to the playlist listings and is a step in the right direction. I would like to have the playlist selection come up as early in the browsing process as possible, but I haven't figured out how to do that.

Is there a way to add a tag and somehow have the option appear earlier?

If you are using HEOS, there is no way to make the Playlists menu selection come earlier. With BubbleUPnP and other standard UPnP control points, it is there on the first screen.
