Synology DSM Upgrade 7.0.1 Compatibility with JAVA Upgrade
My Synology DS1019 is offering an upgrade of DSM. However, it is reporting that it is not compatibile with the version of JAVA installed, even though I have "updated" JAVA. See attached screenshot.

Some additional investigation indicates there is an "upgrade" of JAVA available (see attached screenshot).

I purchased MinimServer 2 in March and as far as I know, it is up to date (Version 2.0.18 update 201.) Is MinimServer 2 compatibile with this JAVA "upgrade?"

RE: Synology DSM Upgrade 7.0.1 Compatibility with JAVA Upgrade
I also got warning messages that certain services (SMB, File Station) would need to be updated after upgrading to DSM 7….but after I upgraded I couldn’t find anything that required an update and everything seems to be working properly….

RE: Synology DSM Upgrade 7.0.1 Compatibility with JAVA Upgrade
DSM 7.0.1 has removed support for the Java package you are currently using to run MinimServer on DSM 6.2.4. Updating Java to a later version will not help. You need to remove MinimServer, then remove Java, then update to DSM 7.0.1, then reinstall MinimServer. For detailed instructions on how to do this, see this section.

RE: Synology DSM Upgrade 7.0.1 Compatibility with JAVA Upgrade
Following the instructions provided I was able to successfully upgrade to DSM 7 on my Synology DS1019 (Intel Processor). The third step in the instruction requires that the license for the DS1019 be deactivated. It took me quite awhile to figure out how to do this. It might be useful to add something about this in the instructions.

I had one major issue, which was self inflicted. After updating to DSM 7, I was presented with an unfamiliar screen and was being prompted to log in. I thought it was for my Synology account and started using the username and password for that. I got locked out pretty quickly. Turns out, the screen was the “new look” for the operating system and I was being prompted to log into my NAS.

After waiting awhile, I still could not get loged in. I had to call Synology and they walked me through the process doing a factory reset so I could log back in to the “admin” account and reset my username and password. I then had to provide the new password to several PCs in the house that access the NAS.

Thanks for this. I will update the Synology page to explain how to deactivate and reactivate the full license.
